Yi-Ting grew up in Taiwan and studied piano and flute from a young age. After serving as a music specialist and classroom teacher in Taiwanese primary schools for several years, she decided to study abroad and obtained teaching experience in higher education during and after her doctoral program. She had also presented research papers and workshops at several major conferences in the US, Canada, Mexico, Greece, China and Taiwan.

Yi-Ting is interested in exploring different cultures and getting to know friends from various backgrounds. After moving to the UK, Yi-Ting has started her music studio and provides flute, music theory and piano tuitions. She appreciates the opportunity of playing music with friends and has also played in various ensembles, including the University of Warwick Symphony Orchestra. In addition, she continues teaching music for young children in group and private settings.

Yi-Ting enjoys musically and intellectually interacting with students at different levels, and has learned tremendously from them. She has used eclectic pedagogical approaches to teach music and Mandarin, and often found ways to apply technology to her teaching. She values each student’s individual development and often listens to their needs so as to provide suitable ways to facilitate their learning.
