Dragon Boat Festival & Father's Day

This week we are celebrating the Dragon Boat Festival and warming up for Father's Day.

We listened to a story and sang a song about the traditional food in Dragon Boat Festival- zòng zi (粽子, the rice dumplings), followed by practicing our rowing skills- huá chuán (划船, row the boat). Impressively, Fox room children rowed the dragon boat so well and had the good steps right on the beat. Good job all of our wonderful rowers!

Finally, we learned the phrase, wǒ ài nǐ (我愛你, I love you) in the tune of Skidamarink, which we could use for Father's Day to daddies, grandpas, or the special ones who love us so much! The lyrics of the song are as follows:

wǒ zǎo shàng ài nǐ (I love you in the morning)

wǒ xià wǔ yě ài nǐ  (I also love you in the afternoon)

wǒ wǎn shàng ài nǐ   (I love you in the evening)

zài yuè liàng xià ài nǐ (and love you underneath the moon)

To hear the whole song (and other materials we have learned in the class recently), please follow the link and password from the email that's sent after the lesson today.

We wish you a great Dragon Boat Festival and Happy Father's Day!!
