Music performance and the flautist
The only program performed by adult musicians in our Chinese New Year Event is a flute duet performing traditional Taiwanese melodies. We are very much delighted to invite a professional flautist, Sheng-Che Wu, to enrich our program.
A native of Taiwan, Sheng-Che Wu started to play the flute at the age of 12. He is a graduate of the Birmingham Conservatoire, UK, where he studied with Judith Hall, Frank Nolan and Jane Mitchell and received a Postgraduate Diploma in Flute Performance in 2011. He also completed his Bachelor Degree of Fine Arts at National Taiwan University of Arts, graduating with First Class honours in 2005. In 2008, he graduated from University of Taipei and received his Masters Degree in Flute Performance under Prof. Shu-Chun Chiang. He has performed in masterclasses worldwide, with such renowned flautists as Trevor Wye, Janos Bálint, Shigenori Kudo, Yossi Arnheim, Sarah Louvion, Benoit Fromanger, Amy Porter, Marie-Christine Zupancic, Harrie Starreveld and Nishida Naotaka. In 2005, he participated Les Arcs Festival in France where he studied the flute with Frédéric Berteletti and José-Daniel Castellon.
Thank you very much for the participation. We look forward to your performance on the coming Sunday!
